I made a trip to the aptly named Mills Road Park in Kenton County, Kentucky, so-called because it sits at the corner of Mills Road and Mills Road. It's a nice park, aside from the construction. This was my first visit. It has some nice hiking trails and a couple of small lakes.
I managed to add a few new birds to my May List, including the Orchard Oriole to the right.
There were a few other birds that I didn't get any good pictures of: Northern Rough-winged Swallow, the male Red-winged Blackbird, a Blue Jay, and a black and white bird I couldn't identify.
There were other interesting critters as well. A turtle was swimming around in the pond, but always ducked under when I was ready to take a picture. The frogs were everywhere, as well as the tadpoles.
I only explored one of the trails, so this looks like a place I'll have to visit again...
