Snowy bridge
Ring-billed gull, probably wishing it had headed further south...
Snowy bridge
The first real snow of the season has finally come. They're predicting eight to sixteen inches by the time it's over tomorrow. I'm still off work, so I don't have to go out and drive in it.

But I had to get out and play in it. I went down to James Taylor Park and pretty much had the whole place to myself. I love heading to the woods after a good snow. The snow covers all the old beer cans and stuff. It looks like you're really out in the wilderness. And it's quiet.

Looks like we're going to have a white Christmas this year. Fortunately, I got all my Christmas shopping done yesterday. There wasn't much. I'm only doing cards this year. Since I've been off work, that's about all I can afford.

It's been one month today since I had my heart attack. Aside from tiring out a bit faster now, I feel fine. The tiring out easy may just be from not gulping down all that caffeine anymore. I don't see the doctor again until December 30, so it will be next year before I can get back to work.

Miserable as The Job is, I'm hoping the doctor will say I can go back. I'm getting paid while I'm off, but it's only 60% of my regular pay, that is, 60% of a forty hour week. Since we work six and seven days a week, it actually comes out to a bit less than 60%.

I'll be living on birdseed before it's all over!
